ArTechnology 3 Is Postponed

This Saturday’s ArTechnology 3 Postponed

ArTechnonlogy, an ongoing dance party event series to benefit Maine Film Studios, will be postponing this weekend’s event. ArTechnology 3, an electronic music dance party with scheduled appearances by Ryan Tapia, Party More, Carnage, Power Lines, Manafest, and the debut performance of All night Pony will be rescheduled for the coming months.

I want to thank everyone who has been supporting ArTechnology and Maine Film Studios! I’ve offered to reschedule this Saturday’s event, as a set crew needed early access to the studio for an upcoming film project. This is a great problem to have!  I’m excited for Maine Film Studios for bringing in new work and opportunities to Southern Maine, and will continue to support them in their efforts. Please stay tuned for an announcement regarding the rescheduled date and other forthcoming presentations.

Beat Happenings October 23rd with DJ Parallax, Nocturnal & Silverchild

Oh. Yes. Here. We. Go.

Another slammin and jammin Beat Happenings is on the way! This week we are excited to have DJ Parallax, Nocturnal & your host with the most, DJ Silverchild!

DJ Parallax:

For over a decade, DJ PARALLAX has pushed the dance music envelope with his ever evolving style. Performing for some of the most diverse crowds internationally, his sets have been witnessed from the United States to Europe & Canada. Scouring the planet for music, DJ PARALLAX always delivers the heaviest basslines and floor stomping underground beats.

DJ PARALLAX, also known as Frank Gallagher, began his career producing. Looping samples on an old 486DX PC in 1993 he was completely unaware of the blossoming underground dance music scene. Exposed to the dance music scene a few years later, he knew exactly where he fit. Already a DJ on a local radio station he switched formats and DJ PARALLAX, as he is known, was born.

Spinning 6 hours at a time On-Air he began mixing and blending different styles of dance music. “Earth Electronic”, his radio program on WXPL 91.3 FM, continued for 5 long years. Eventually teaming up with other local DJs and bringing in special guests the show flourished for a time and was the only underground dance music radio program in the region.

With the growing success of the radio program, DJ PARALLAX began his journey through the local rave & club circuit. Promoting himself with countless hundreds of CDs and promotional materials he gained greater exposure in the Northeast. Playing from Boston, to Manchester, to New York, he perfected his skills in dancefloor filling and was soon picked up by many respected regional & national crews.

More recently, DJ PARALLAX has crossed over into the global scene. With recent & upcoming events in the Northeast, Denver, Halifax, Vancouver, Ireland, and the UK, DJ PARALLAX continues to dominate the globe with his signature style of Speed Garage, Bassline, and 4×4. Be sure to check out his acclaimed THUMP mix series featuring only the hottest Speed Garage and 4×4 tracks.

Beat Happenings July 10 2010

It’s All About the Beats!

A special Off The Hook Beat Happenings with DJ Trixie and Alchera! Two of New Englands finest lady DJ’s! Plus we are giving away 3 pairs of tickets to the Maine Electronic Music Festival (MEMF). DJ Silverchild & Elusid start things off right along with MC Josiah Scribes and Beatboxer Northstar!

DJ Silverchild: Bringing Back the Heartache

Vocal mix recorded May 2010. I’m proud of this one. Vocal house is a very hard genre to find good music. Most of it’s cheesy and unoriginal at best. This mix is not.

Vocal House May 23 2010

DJ Silverchild: Getting Back To The Funk

Once I was no longer inspired by Hard House, I took a break from electronic music altogether until I heard a bunch of Herbert tracks. That’s when I started playing house again. here are 9 outstanding mixes I put together.
